Auxiliary Programs Associate

Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks an Associate to join its Auxiliary Programs team. Auxiliary Programs encompasses a diverse array of programs and services including before and after school programs, enrichment workshops, facility rentals, school store and cafe, intra-campus shuttle, Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC), and comprehensive summer programs for over 2500 campers annually.† Reporting to the Director of Auxiliary Programs and Director of Summer Programs, the Auxiliary Programs Associate will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative duties within the department and supporting key aspects of the various programs during the school year and summer.†


Office administrative tasks include managing online registrations, email, phones, LiveChat for summer programs, enrollment tracking, and processing payments/invoices.† Program specific tasks may include assisting with Lower or Middle School after-school programs, subbing in the ECLC, serving as a monitor on the shuttle between campuses, and assisting with special events or inventory in the school store/cafe.† Summer Programs responsibilities could include assisting with hiring, updating program budgets, and marketing and recruitment activities.†


This opportunity requires someone energetic, personable, collaborative, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of multiple programs operating simultaneously.† She/he must be able to work as part of a team in a busy office atmosphere as well as independently; have the ability to deal effectively with parents, children, summer employees, and colleagues throughout the school; and be adept at identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner. Strong interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally. A passion for customer service and working with children of a variety of ages is also required, along with the ability to accurately complete assignments with attention to detail.†


A minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience, preferably in camp or educational settings, is required, as is a bachelorís degree or an equivalent amount of professional experience.†
