Interim Girls Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach

Sidwell Friends, a co-educational PK-12 Quaker day school, seeks applicants for an Interim Girls Head Varsity coach for lacrosse from February 22, 2022, to May 21, 2022. This position can be structured in multiple ways based on availability, including as a full-time coach in the athletic department member with lacrosse coaching responsibilities in the middle school. Responsibilities include organizing and running practices, developing and implementing effective game strategies, supervising and utilizing assistant coaches, and recruiting highly successful student-athletes.

It is expected that the Head Coach will maintain a high standard of integrity in all aspects of team management, foster a culture that promotes the Quaker values of the School and academic experience of the student, and intentionally integrate school core values as the framework from which to coach and build the lacrosse program. A thoughtful approach and innovative thinking will be essential to success in this role and effectively engaging and communicating with administrators, faculty, and staff.

Coaching responsibilities involve management of all facets of the lacrosse programs, including, but not limited to, organizing and running practices, developing and implementing effective game strategies, video analysis, and recruiting highly successful student-athletes. Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, passionate about player development, and display strong leadership and motivational skills.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level and in a club setting. A bachelorís degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Extensive knowledge and ties to the club lacrosse community in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area are highly desirable, as is proven experience in recruiting for highly selective institutions.

Coaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based; therefore, this position requires coaching in person.
