Talent Acquisition Manager

Job Profile:

At Sidwell Friends School (SFS) our people are our most important resource. We are looking for a highly skilled Talent Acquisition Manager to own end-to-end Talent Acquisition life cycle with a strong focus on strategy, planning, driving metrics, and building a first-class strategic recruiting function. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic talent advisor, in partnership with our key stakeholders: hiring managers, leadership, candidates, and the talent community at large. You will possess the ability to advocate for SFS brand across numerous markets and professional communities, while maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders. You will have extensive experience in recruitment, with a comprehensive knowledge of data mining, screening, sourcing, and innovative hiring practices. Equally important, is a working knowledge and understanding of applicable employment and labor laws.

The Manager is responsible for developing and managing a diverse pipeline of candidates, while actively handling a high volume of searches. In this role, it is essential to be highly adaptable, agile, and process-oriented with a passion for identifying top talent, collaboration and driving results.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assess and challenge existing recruiting strategies, methods, and systems to create a proactive and efficient approach to sourcing, screening, and onboarding qualified talent.
  • Drive effective sourcing strategies through a myriad of sourcing channels including the use of social media and job boards.
  • Cultivate and maintain ongoing positive partnerships with internal stakeholders to understand departmental and divisional dynamics, workforce planning strategies, internal mobility and talent needs to support a seamless hiring process.
  • `Leverage data to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of talent acquisition: sourcing, screening, and decision making.
  • Establish, track, and analyze recruitment activity metrics and create reports for leadership as requested.
  • Attend and support hiring managers at recruiting events, conferences, and networking functions to build relationships and source candidates.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise, including training and engagement with leaders and those intimately involved in the recruitment process.
  • Develop relationships with third party recruitment agencies and staffing firms while measuring the results obtained.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS/BA in business administration, human resources, or relevant field
  • Five to 7 years progressively responsible experience in human resources particularly with talent acquisition methods and related best practice., preferably in PK-12 school.
  • Demonstrated experience in a talent acquisition leadership role, managing full recruitment to onboarding cycle.
  • Proficient use of social media and job boards
  • Willingness to understand the duties and competencies of distinct roles.
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems and databases
  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the school well as the first point of contact with a potential candidate.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty while being able to move responsibilities forward in a timely manner.
  • Collaborative leadership style and understanding of position as a service to others.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries to build and maintain.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
