Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school, seeks a part-time seasonal Assistant Wrestling Coach for the Washington, D.C. campus. Leading with Sidwell Friends School (SFS) values, the Assistant Wrestling Coach reports to the Head Wrestling Coach and Athletics Director and is responsible for assisting with training and oversight of high-school aged student athletes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Represent Sidwell Friends School and the Wrestling Program professionally in all aspects, including during training and competition. Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
- Travel with the team and assist with oversight and instruction of student athletes at tournaments and multi-dual meets on Saturdays throughout the winter.
- Provide technical and strategic instruction at practices and competitions.
- Serve as a training partner for athletes as needed.
- Abide by SFS, Mid-Atlantic Conference, and District of Columbia State Athletic Association rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience with Folkstyle Wrestling technique, rules, regulations, and strategies.
- Willingness to work with student-athletes at all stages of development.
- An appreciation for the fact that many SFS student-athletes balance a variety of activities and obligations beyond their commitment to wrestling.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, other coaches, parents, and students.
- Available to work weekends.
- As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will complete and clear a background and fingerprint screening before the first day of work. Upon hire, they will obtain CPR Certification, First Aid training, Bus training, and other requirements immediately, upon hire.
Compensation
- Stipend $3,852.00. Stipend will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
