Sidwell Friends School, a co-educational Quaker day school, seeks a Middle School 7th and 8th grade Math teacher who genuinely appreciates and actively supports the Quaker philosophy that underlies our school for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time benefits-eligible position is based on the Washington, DC, campus and begins in late August 2026. Reporting to the Middle School Principal, this role is primarily responsible for teaching two sections of 7th grade Pre-Algebra and two sections of 8th grade Algebra. In both grades, there are two levels of each course. The ideal candidate will be able to both support and challenge a range of Middle School students in their mathematical thinking. In addition, the role will include advising a group of 7th and 8th grade students; writing student reports; effectively communicating and collaborating with students, colleagues, and families; and other faculty duties such as recess and lunch supervision. The omission of specific responsibilities does not preclude duties logically related to the position from being assigned. Qualifications & Requirements
