Interim Admissions Associate

Department: Admissions & Financial Aid
Location: Washington, DC
Position Start Date: Immediately
Status: Part-time

The school is seeking an interim admissions assistant. The person in this role works on specific projects throughout the admissions season on a part-time basis from November through May with the possibility of an extension into summer.

Position Summary:

As a member of the school’s enrollment management team, this associate provides support to the Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and works closely with the assistant directors and others in the office.

Qualified candidates must possess exceptional organization, time management, and oral and written communication skills, a commitment to the practice of inclusivity, and an appreciation of broad diversity. They must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information, and process and present data, when asked, in a clear, focused manner. Candidates should understand the goals of Friends education and independent schools and be able to articulate the unique aspects of our school to a diverse group of prospective families.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree. Experience in schools or with young people is a plus. Possible duties will include:

  • Leading and assisting with group visits with applicants across the three divisions
  • Interviewing applicants and parents/guardians in the fall and winter
  • Giving tours to families and students throughout the season
  • Participate as a member of admissions committees
  • Assist with communication with applicants
  • Provide assistance with shadow days for middle and upper school students
  • Assist in the administration of the Student Admissions Leadership Team and the Parent Admissions Ambassadors Corps
  • Share insight and creativity with the team

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate $26.44-$33.65. Hourly rate commensurate with experience and qualifications.
